The Tongariro River track is a great trail for beginners, families and experienced mountain bikers alike.
It follows the Tongariro River, a world-famous trout river, past rolling farmland, beech forests and fern glades with spectacular views at almost every bend.
En route is the National Trout Center, entry can be included with a bike hire.

What you need to bring:
Shorts, Polypro, Windbreaker, Sandshoes, Camera, Water Bottle.
Guided: $65 pp, Bike Hire $25 pp, Bike hire and Trout Centre Entrance: $35 pp.
This ride is a circuit that begins a 5 minute ride from our base.
This means that we can meet you at our base and ride straight from here! It can be done as a 10km or 15km loop, and is a perfect introduction to mountain biking for novices.
The trail features constantly changing scenery and can be ridden in all weather conditions. It is mostly flat with an optional hill leading to a lookout over the Turangi township and Tongariro River.
